How you are graded:
Your grade will be calculated based on total points.
Homework will be collected, checked and recorded and will vary in points, but most assignments will be based on a 4-point scale:
4-Completed correctly to 0-Not completed.
Projects will vary in points but will count for more than homework assignments.
Quizzes will range in points from around 15 up to 30. These will occur twice in a unit, usually once a week.
Tests will be at the end of each unit. You will be given a review to complete to check for understanding before the test. Tests count 100 points each.

How do you do well in this class?
-Respect everyone in this room.
-Work well with each other and with your teacher. If you are in a group that is not functioning well, feel free to talk to me individually.
-Complete homework on time. Late work is not acceptable.
-Have access to what is needed in class every day: notebook, book, writing utensil, calculator, compass, protractor and ruler.
-LISTEN!!, follow directions, and study when necessary.
-Do your own work (cheating is an automatic 0--and a phone call home).
-Ask questions if you don’t understand, but always try things on your own first!
-Don’t be worried about struggling to answer questions at times, developing serious math skills require you to be challenged and to use critical thinking. In other words, DON’T PANIC!! I won’t always help you until I am satisfied that you have given the work your entire focus first!!!
