Tricks for Measurement
If you are asked for the area, use the appropriate formula to determine the area. Some answers may contain variables.
If you are missing a dimension needed, you may need to use Pythagorean Theorem, SOH CAH TOA, etc
If you are finding a measurement such as height, length, radius, etc, Use the formula to set up an equation and use it to solve using Algebra. WHEN IN DOUBT, WRITE IT OUT and you will see what to do.
IF YOU ARE NOT PROVIDED A PICTURE, DRAW ONE---WHEN IN DOUBT, DRAW IT OUT
For any calculations for flooring, paint, air conditioning, etc, make sure you ALWAYS ROUND UP!!
When you have irregular areas, split them up into figures that you can find the area of.
When you have shaded areas, sometimes you need to take the whole area and subtract out the UNSHADED area to find the SHADED AREA
